Blogging from METC: Libraries and Storytelling

This morning I attended two extremely informative and entertaining METC sessions.  The first, from noted librarian Joyce Valenza, was “Web 2.0 Meets Information Fluency: Translating 21st Century Library Practice Across the Curriculum.”  Joyce’s presentation, available here, was an excellent look at how libraries and information management are changing in and out of the classroom.  Joyce also maintains a wiki page that is a must-look for anyone in education.

David Jakes’ session, “Digital Storytelling 2.0″, featured outstanding examples of students using Flickr and Photostory to create powerful digital stories.  His resources, available here, can benefit novice and experienced users alike.  For more of David’s ideas, I would highly encourage you to visit his blog, The Strength of Weak Ties.

N.B.  I sat next to David while writing this quick post and he was kind enough to help me find the link to his resource page.  A truly great guy!
